1.AWARD APPAREL PLC., LONDON (October 2005 - July 2013)
Ladies-wear and Graphics designer working in the design department of a supplier house based in West London. At present, their main buyers are BHS and EVANS which are a part of the ARCADIA GROUP. In the past, MK-ONE and PEACOCKS have been major buyers as well along with mail order catalogue, J.D. WILLIAMS. I have provided my Graphic and Garment design skills to each of these accounts throughout my current tenure and am presently working with the Sleepwear, Petites and Jersey Department at BHS. Till July 2013, I was also handing the Ladies Sleepwear account for Morrisons. From liasing with buyers and factories to taking part in design presentations and fabric sourcing trips, I am involved in all aspects of the design process.
2.WALIA CREATIONS, NEW DELHI (2005)
Ladies-wear designer in Delhi based store, specializing in fusion wear involving Indian and Western clothing elements. Prior to my official employment in January 2005, I worked as a freelance designer for the same.
3.MODELAMA EXPORTS, NEW DELHI (2003)
Assistant designer in New Delhi based Export house whose buyers include GAP, banana republic, American Eagle, TARGET and other U.S. based stores.
4.RITU BERI DESIGNS PVT. LTD. (2002)
10 week internship under one of India’s leading designers where I not only learnt the functioning of all departments but also designed a small range for their Ready-to-wear Spring Summer ’02 collection.
DESIGN PROJECTS AS A MASTERS STUDENT IN MILAN
During my tenure as a MA student in Fashion Design at Domus Academy in Milan, I had the pleasure of working on projects with Europe’s best design houses as part of my course- curriculum. They include Meltin’ Pot, Cartier, Hogan (TOD’S Group), Fay (TOD’s Group), Costume National and Frankie-Morello.
