Aoi Kato is a Chicago based artist majoring in Illustration at the American Academy of Art. Knowing the struggle of being bilingual, she realized the beauty of visual art is the fact that it is a universal language. She chooses not to replicate what already exists, she becomes obsessed with originating her own characters and environment. Her goal is to bring others into her whimsical world. She is a diverse artist and is capable of drawing realistically and stylistically. She creates her compulsive compositions utilizing many mediums such as graphite, colored pencil, ink, marker and Adobe softwares. Set to graduate in the Spring of 2018, Aoi hopes to work as an Illustrator and take on commissioned work as well.
