Sean Beattie

University graduate with a Bachelor and Post-Graduate Diploma in Industrial Design (also known as Product Design). Currently studying a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at QUT in order to enhance by technical skills and knowledge relating to mechanical design. I have a passion for all aspects of product design, from inventing new products and solutions through to designing, producing and marketing products for clients.

After graduating I spent 2 years travelling, mostly living and snowboarding in Whistler, Canada, where I worked in hotel maintenance and acquired many skills and a thorough appreciation for such work.

I currently work for Albert Smith Signs as a Product Designer for the last 18months since my return from overseas. We are one of the largest signage manufacturers in Australia, designing and manufacturing large scale signage for the largest customers in the retail, automotive, financial, fast food and petrol industries. In this position I take general design intent from a client (i.e graphical layouts) of a proposed sign and design the construction to achieve a product that is quick and cost effective solution that is easy to install and service, whilst maintaining the high standards that enables us to keep such high level clients.
