Callum Taylor

I am currently employed as a Room Management Assistant for The University of the West of England. I work as part of a team that ensures that each teaching room and lecture theatre around campus is fit for teaching workshops and lectures. For this job I am required to wake up early to check teaching rooms and lecture theatres around campus for IT, electrical and general room faults before teaching starts at 9am. As part of this role I function very well both alone and as part of an extensive team.

Working as a Sales Assistant involved a lot of customer service. I worked on the footwear, floor and till departments providing customers with an efficient and enjoyable experience in the store. I occasionally managed shop floors and I also gained manager functions on tills to authorise transactions, returns and discounts when approved. I was commended several times for the quality of my service and how well I kept the stores presentation even through busy time periods.

Primark - Primark, Crowngate, Worcester I was employed as a weekend Retail Operative for a Worcester based Primark store. I predominantly worked on the tills but also acted as stock room staff and department staff unpacking and replenishing stock on the shop floor and maintaining the tidiness/ appearance of departments as necessary. Teamwork is vital in a retail environment and I believe that in working at Primark for 2 years my teamwork skills have been boosted massievly. Presentation of departments and an eye for detail is important in a retail environment and I had been commended several times for good customer service.

I was employed as a general assistant at a motor vehicle garage where my duties included general office tasks and cleaning of the workshop. In this role, I had to pay particular attention to health and safety. If a task is set that I do not know how to complete, I am quick to ask about it and learn how to get that particular task done. I am seen as reliable, hard working and a quick learner.
