      My role at Clip Ltd is to design, quote and run custom build projects from start to finish. I get involved at the very beginning meeting clients taking their brief getting to know the company and the brand to come up with a design that creates the aesthetic that our client wants. Hand sketches and rough models can be created within the meeting to start the creative process.

      Once the final design is signed off I'll get the working drawings and the admin of H&S documentation and organiser sign off sorted placing all service orders for the stand.

      Liaising with the workshop through out the construction making sure finishes are as specified and I'll be on site to see it in and hand over the keys.
    • Project Manager
      Evention Design and Build
      Jan 2013 - Aug 2013 (7 months)
      Project Manager for Evention Design and Build I am responsible for a number of stands at multiple shows. I take the design and working drawings created by the design team and trouble shoot the designs before they go into production, if anything is spotted I will notify the design team to get the drawing amended accordingly. From these drawings I will create a job sheet listing all components and their quantities required to construct the stand, along with the job sheet and working drawing I will brief the workshop for construction. Other responsibilities within my role include the following:-

      Writing Health and Safety Documentation to be submitted to the organisers of shows
      Attaining quotes from suppliers for any bespoke items Ordering any materials required to build the stand
      Running a dedicated team within the workshop who is working on my job(s)
      Ordering Furniture
      Ordering AV
      Pre-site visits where necessary to measure up
      Requesting and handing out over night subsistence to workforce for build-up and breakdowns
      Requesting and handing out any float money required for parking or additional unforeseen expenses.
      Booking Flights and Accommodation for site
      Booking logistics to and from the Venue including and unloading and re-loading
      Going on to site to see the jobs in and to hand over to the client when required
    • Freelance Designer
      DA Designs

      Freelance Designer - producing AutoCAD space layouts and detail construction drawings for Exhibitions and Interiors.

      I am able to produce hand drawn visuals, some photography work as well as the above skills in AutoCAD. Computer rendered visuals are currently unavailable due to software issues but watch this space for an update.
    • Assistant Account Manager

      Providing a support role to the Account Managers when required and to project manage allocated show features from design through to site delivery. On-site dealings with numerous contracts, and contact with show organisers to obtain show information including feature information. Passing this information to all relevant divisions within the group making sure the Account Manager is copied in at every stage. Attending pre-show meetings with organises to obtain show brief and feature information these are attended with and without Account Managers present depending on availability.

      I put together individual feature proposals to include design, quotation and specification. Produce a briefing document to be given to the design department and agree a completion date, where necessary to provide design drawings myself using Sketch-up. Ensuring the design of the features are produced using stock system and materials whenever possible. Prior to sending the design drawings and visuals to client, I ensure that the drawings have been verified by production for stock availability. Monitoring the individual features at every stage chasing acceptance when necessary to allow sufficient production time to undertake the work. Enforcing cut-off dates for no alterations to be made or they will incur severe surcharges.

      Project Manager for the SO Group based in the Cwmcarn office, I deal with a number of shows supporting the Account Managers in their role.

      Main duties include working within a team environment, dealing with organisers and client questions regarding their shell scheme stands. Processing all addtional shell scheme extra's orders such as additional display equipment and walling. Creating quotations for exhibitors who have booked space only stands but wish to use a system stand as their design. Processing all the information so that this is instructed to the production team so that mistakes a reduced once on site.

      I also do some AutoCAD work for feature areas within shows (wall and space layouts) and have been creating hand drawn 3D monochrome rendered visuals. These help the organisers and exhibitors as well as the production team understand what is required along with the working drawings.

      Project managed a number of exhibition shows, including Tourism Australia, which included the visualising of designs, drafting of construction drawings, producing 3D visuals using Form Z, sourcing materials for construction, for ordering services and furniture for exhibition stands, liaising with exhibition organisers, on site project management, preparing health and safety documentation, making sure all arrived at the show on time and within budget.
