I graduated from the College for Creative Studies in 2010 with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design. My professional journey in Industrial Design has equipped me with the latest tools and techniques for developing products from inception to fruition. Notably, with Collins Aerospace, I was tasked with designing concept seat builds that are showcased annually at the Hamburg AIX show. These projects demanded the creation of full-scale working prototypes of business-class airline seats, completed within stringent timeframes. Commencing as the lead designer, I gained more responsibilities and then earned the role of project manager as well. Furthermore, I collaborated directly with clients, adeptly translating their needs into next-generation seats and suites tailored to their distinct airline specifications. I am also proud to be a hands-on professional, whether it's prototyping, testing, or troubleshooting, I thrive in these aspects of design work.
After much success and nearly 5 years with Collins, my wife and I planned to take a break from the corporate world and fulfill our dream of traveling before taking on the next goal of starting a family. We had planned and prepared for this for quite a while, work projects were wrapping up and the time was right for us to make the move, and we did. First traveling to the Pacific, sailing from Vanuatu to New Caledonia and onto New Zealand where we traveled the north and south island in a camper van. Returning to the USA and to our plan of sailing, little did we, or anyone else know we were about to embark on a journey that no one could of predicted. A global pandemic. All plans completely derailed almost overnight and we had no choice but to pivot. Our global travel plans halted, I set out to design and build a adventure camper van to explore America. Once international travel restrictions lifted, we acquired our original dream of living aboard our own sail boat and traveling to places we had never been.
In addition to my formal work experience, my hobbies also revolve around industrial design and I spend most of my free time working on cars, bikes and boats, designing, repairing and building parts.
