The design direction for this project focused on swimwear inspired by Cuba. Our ideal customer is a fashionable jet set woman that travels across the world. The color story included a colorful coral reef tapestry print, a black and white repeat pattern, a floral print, and solid colors to tie in with the prints. The Nanette Lepore brand is known very well for its use of prints so this project really focused on print mixing. Along with creating swimsuit styles I also had to incorporate macramé and embellishments. My group even got the opportunity to design and illustrate swimsuits for children based off of the women’s suits and I really enjoyed that aspect.
