I am an experienced and versatile industrial product designer/product engineer. My strongest competencies include developing product concepts into production ready designs (including 3D2D drawings, design specifications, models and prototypes). I have expert knowledge of working with SolidWorks, Rhino3D and Keyshot. I am also experienced with mechanical engineering. I have a passion for products that combine beauty and usability. I enjoy working in a dynamic, cross-functional team. In recent years, I have gained experience in working together with Chinese manufacturers. Design EngineerNilesk International Ltd.Sep 2007 - May 2010 (2 years 8 months)At Nilesk I was responsible for the design and engineering of a 27ft speedboat. I had the responsibility of three engineers during this project. The project started with initial design drawing. It ended with a prototype of the boat at a boat show and the boat ready for production.
I was involved with the ISO9001 certification of the KLM lightweight airline trolley. I have written, work instructions and set up numbering systems for the engineering department and the warehouse. I also have done tooling design for this project.
I also did costumer contact for a Dutch costumer for our woodworking factory. I dealt with orders, design changes, complaints and shipment. -
Graduation projectUqDesignSep 2006 - Feb 2007 (5 months)Uqdesign had a concept of a modular cupboard, for my graduation I developed that concept so it could be produced. I also did a study on the cupboard market and what the target consumers could be.

InternshipGro DesignSep 2005 - Feb 2006 (5 months)At Grodesign I worked different projects and tasks. The main project was to design a new range of phones for Nokia. That involved: brainstorm sessions with Nokia, idea sketching, concept development, 3d modelling, rendering. One of the phones, the Nokia 6500 Classic received the 2007 IF Design Award.

InstructorOutdoor Adventure Sports2000 - 2005 (5 years)As a instructor of outdoor activities I was involved in the following activities: Taking families on canyoning trips in the south of France, mountain biking, rock-climbing, abseiling and hiking in the Belgian Ardennes. The company provided for technical and safety training.
