Heather McHenry

I'm an experienced, ambitious, and creative professional with a background in graphic design, photography, web development, and technology acquired by working in a multitude of industries. This includes activities ranging from promotional design, marketing, web management, computer technology, setting and achieving goals, understanding customer expectations, and working independently. I'm proactive and skilled in prioritizing and planning work loads by being detail oriented, assimilating data and ideas quickly, utilizing solid communication and problem solving skills with the ability to resolve difficult problems with creative solutions.

A little more about me...

My love for art was fostered at a young age as my grandfather, Earl Wolf was an incredible artist. I always admired him and found a way to put an artistic spin on everything I did whether it was for school or for fun. I took my first formal art class in highschool and found that I really enjoyed pushing myself and learning more each and every day.

I attended the University of Cincinnati for two and a half years in the DAAP program but decided that it didn't fit my style of learning and took a long break to work on a career. After experiencing a multitude of areas in the corporate world from eCommerce, to Internet Services, to Customer Service and Administrative work, I found myself in the Information Technology field. I love computers and I'm great at Technical Support but I found that my creativity was being stifled. I decided to go back to school to fine tune my craft and see where I wanted to go with my life.

I went back to school in 2007 and graduated with Highest Honors from ITT Technical Institute in March of 2010 with an Associate's Degree in Visual Communications. I had done so well that I decided to continue my education at the College of Mount Saint Joseph. I graduated in May of 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Graphic Design with a double minor in iDesign and Photography.

I know now that I have definitely chosen the right profession. I greatly enjoy design and am always looking for new ways to communicate through art, design, and photography. I also love music and technology, enjoy knitting, and like being crafty. In March of 2012, my fiance and I launched our company: MHM Photography. We provide photography services and have displayed our work in a number of exhibitions around the city of Cincinnati. Currently, I am working a number of freelance positions in design and photography and am searching for a full time position in either one of those fields.
