I was engaged by Bret Chilcott, of Cobalt Boats, for two different freelance projects. The first project involved wakeboard tower concepts for their upcoming 24 foot boat. The second project involved concepts for a particular area of seating that needed resolution. I developed a new direction for this seating area through concept sketching. Cobalt was pleased with the results.

Mattel asked me to do a test project for them. It involved concepts for their Hot Wheels division. I developed some vehicle concepts that turned out to be more appropriate for their Matchbox line. I then developed some bedroom concepts composed of beds and dressers themed as: a formula one paddock, fire engine department, and tropical beach with a Volkswagen Microbus bed.

Based upon their currently running first generation model I delivered over twenty black and white sketches in the initial development of a new direction for the Gen2 Monorail. The new version is intended for export marketability in places such as India, as well as locally in Malaysia. I had the pleasure of personally delivering ten color Interior and Exterior sketches and a presentation to approximately twenty representatives of the monorail builder, Scomi, in Kuala Lumpur. The concept was well received and is currently installed in India and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Sony Playstation game development. Developed the Nagano, Japan snowboard half-pipe for Coolboarders4. Concept was to incorporate a park within a half-pipe, using park-type elements such as: Table-top Jumps, Rails, and Bauer Boxes. Presented the idea with color sketches and then modeled the course in Alias Power Animator. Built hi and lo-res versions, textured, and tested course for maximum gameplay.

I received this internship opportunity after my fifth term at Art Center. I worked with Teague at Boeing's 737 plant in Renton, Washington. Developed a suitable hinge cover for the 737 entry door. Then worked with their Technology and Product Development division on an interior concept for a supersonic plane called the HSCT (High Speed Civil Transport). My concept was a thermally formed sidewall shell that would work with the aircraft's 'coke-bottle' fuselage. The sidewall has a pleasingly sculpted form designed to envelope nearby occupants with a localized environment, both visually and acoustically.
