As a realist and an analytical thinker, I try to rationalize design decisions through facts and research concerning how a product or system will be used, by whom and under what conditions. Naturally we don't rationalize everything since we are all emotionally driven at our core. But this knowledge is valuable in its self.

Nothing makes me happier than holding an expertly crafted device that hits on all emotional, cognitive, and physical levels (especially if I've helped design it).

I work at SpineFrontier, a medical device company specializing in implantable orthopedic devices, new surgical methods for access and implantation, and the instrumentation to perform these new surgeries. Think K'NEX for the spine (but with more blood).

Perfection is impossible, so nothing will ever be final.
