Penguin Banned Books
Penguin Banned Books - Banned books are literature that have
been removed from libraries due to
controversial subject matter. The purpose of this piece is to package these books so as to reflect their status.
I wanted a case with an inherent, forboding nature. This rusted, old security box had the perfect feel for what I wanted to convey. I gutted the metal exterior and filled the interior with a foam frame to cradle my 7 literary selections.
The books are modeled after emergency pamphlets and military manuals.
