After researching the most common uses of the current MTC website, it was determined that most users were coming to the site to look up their missionary arrival times. So, in the design, that was made prominent in the upper right corner, without actually putting the times on the main page, so that they would be encouraged to read through the "arrival rules" on the missionary page. The quote on the front is very missionary-focused, and fills the empty space well.
The goal of the about page was to provide some simple background to MTC history, as well as provide a refreshable "photo gallery" for parents and family who are interested about some of the sights and experiences that the missionaries will be encountering.
While there is a good amount of information on this page, the goal was to make it easy to navigate while always keeping the most-searched data prominent. The FAQ section follows a simple drop-down "shelving" organization structure.
This simple tool was designed to allow an individual to quickly add new arrival schedules to the site, even if that individual is less tech-savvy. While the main page will be updated by the Technology department as needed, this small section is updated weekly.
