This is a simplified process of steps taken to digitally manipulate a dog image and place it on a pet bed in a background for product hang tag artwork.

Photography of pet bed is done in-house. The photo image of the pet bed is then clipped out and color corrected using Photoshop.

Dog images used are either stock photography or shot in-house. Images are clipped out and color corrected using Photoshop.

Dog image is placed on pet bed and both are digitally manipulated to look like dog is actually on bed. Several technics of photo enhancement can include rubber-stamping, feathering, lighting, and shadows, etc.

Background chosen maybe stock photography or shot on location. Blurring is done to the furthest part of the background to enhance dog and pet bed that will be placed in the foreground.

The combined dog and pet bed image is placed in the background. All images will be digitally manipulated to look like one complete photograph. Several technics of photo enhancement can include rubber-stamping, feathering, lighting, and shadows, etc.

A flattened Photoshop file of the image is placed on the die-line along with the graphics for final artwork.
