About
My name is Carolina Ahs and I‛m a Print & Pattern Designer originally from Sweden, living and working in SF Bay Area, CA. I have a BFA in Textile Design and I love drawing, color and making patterns. I‛m inspired by nature and animals, Victorian era ornamentation, 60‛s Design and Psychedelic Art. I mostly hand draw, paint, screen print and create repeat patterns in Photoshop, Illustrator and Procreate.
I was teaching Textile Design and Color Theory at Academy of Art University, SF for over 10 years and have worked a variety of freelance jobs in Print+ Pattern Design, Illustration and Art Curation in the Bay Area mostly.

Art ManagerThe Port WorkspacesOakland, CACoworking space in downtown Oakland. Was hired to build up their creative space within the coworking space and initiate classes and workshops as well as recruiting new members. Created an inviting and functional workspace with a limited budget, generating revenue through new memberships, art studio rentals, event space rentals, classes and workshops. Put the Port Makerspace on the map by actively engaging and connecting with various groups of the Bay Area creative community.

Teacher, Textile Design and Color TheoryAcademy of Art UniversitySan Francisco, CAClass activities included demonstrations on fabric printing- and dyeing techniques, heat transfer-, devore'- and discharge techniques. Artwork creation and design development. Lecturing and slideshow presentations on color characteristics, successful color palette creation and image composition. Illustration demos. Administrative duties included weekly homework preparation and -grading, continuos individual assessment and grading, quiz making, composing instructional materials and email communication.
