The Six Sister of Venice aka Le Sei Sestieri Della Venezia Is a costume collection that draws it's inspiration from visits made to each region of Venice. Each character's design and overall outfit addresses the historical as well as current environments of each area. The Six Sestiers (Regions) are - San Marco, San Polo, Dorsoduro, Cannareggio, Santa Croce, and Castello
This character is inspired by L'Accademia in Venice, Italy. It represents the geometric shapes of the building with harsh lines and color blocking. It also alludes to the richness and snobbery associated with the university initially through the use of gold adornment. This garment features machine knit 22-gauge brass wire. Garment features fully fashioned machine knitting ability, Masks are hand-sculpted from paper pulp and painted, and Wig is stylized by designer.
San Marco is home not only to the beautiful St. Mark's Square, but also to the greater population of Venice's pigeons. This character takes the opulence of the high end shops that surround the Square and exhibits the prideful ownership displayed by the native pigeon. This garment features brass wire constructions. Garment features cut and sew machine sewing ability, Masks are hand-sculpted from paper pulp and painted, Wire constructions are hand fabricated, and Wig is stylized by designer.
This character, is inspired by the sestier San Polo, which holds one of Venice's most famous bridges. Her outfit is representative of the blue water flowing under the bridge at night. This ensemble features a brooch forged of brass, coated in a patina, and paired with moulded plastic. Garment features cut and sew machine sewing ability, Masks are hand-sculpted from paper pulp and painted, Brooch is hand fabricated, and Wig is stylized by designer.
