Patric here. Thank you for dropping by and seeing my work!
I have a story for you.
I was sitting in an acting workshop one day, and the facilitator asked the class to put why we do theatre into a five-word phrase; "why bother," he asked. My answer was simple. "I bother because theatre connects." A simple idea to connect, but after many connections, you look at the big picture and have somehow created an entire network; a network connecting you to your actors, to the story, to other designers and collaborators, to yourself, and most importantly, to the receptor of the message. The more we connect, the more we can relate to one another, something vastly needed in our world today. I want to create work that makes a lasting impact and leaves them (the audience/reader) with a positively perpetuating message. I want to create pieces that disturb, disrupt, engage, enlighten, inspire, comfort, and, most importantly, bring culture to consciousness. As human beings, we in this life are charged with teaching each other so that the future is brighter than the past.

Director/ Educating ArtistIndiana, PAJun 2018 - Jun 2018This year at Footlight Players, I have been asked to devise another play. Building off of what I learned last year about the process, I adapted, and truly let the campers take part in the writing of their characters and the story. I was inspired by a children's book titled, "The True Story of the Three Little Pigs." Our play was named, "The True Tails of The Big Bad Wolf." This year, the players took head-on the design of their costumes, as well as helped with some scene design.

Director/ Educating ArtistIndiana, PAJun 2017 - Jul 2017 (1 month)This year at Footlights, I was contracted to devise a play with the Campers; ages 6-12. I found a book written in a rhyming style and adapted it to the stage. I took the poems and turned them into a cohesive story. We also devised some movement pieces that were sprinkled throughout the story line to help connect some dots. This play was named, "Secret Wonders of The World."

Director/ Educating ArtistIndiana, PAJun 2016 - Jul 2016 (1 month)This is a five week contracted position with the Footlight Players, through the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. With a 150 student enrollment, the students were split between four directors, as well as Deisgn, Tech, and Management faculty. I was responsible for directing a musical, Starmites, as well as teaching a theatre workshop. The workshop consisted of getting the students to connect with their bodies through improvisational movement inspired by different types of music. They built organic pictures and began to lay building blocks for being able to associate emotion with different physical states.
