Architectual Inspitation - Here you will see images of Spanish architecture and landscape. They range from the Moorish designs that transformed to the Mudejar style to Gothic cathedrals, Goudis’ Organic Creations, Santiago Calatravas City of Arts and Sciences as well as other modern structures, and finally the natural landscape of Valencia itself. Although these styles visually are quite diverse they all contribute equally to my final design.
Architectural Sketches
Base Plan Process - To develop the base plan for the hotel I used a grid based upon the proportions of the golden section. This resulted in a visually appealing and functional plan.
Final Base Plan - The shapes with the X's in them are open throughtout the building to allow natural light into the interior corridors of the building.

Roof Top Details - Due to the favorable climate of Valencia Spain the roof top is able to accommodate a bar and entertainment area, an infinity pool, a sundeck, and a rooftop garden.
Exterior Elevation- Front - The multicolored LED structure on the front of the building sits about 8' away from the front facade. It is based of the Gothic arch which was then flipped and mirrored. Once it reaches the roof top it arches over to create an arbor for the rooftop garden. The fire exit steel stairway design also mimics this pattern.
Exterior Elevation- Rear - The rear facade also sits about 8' from the building and is a steel structure that is derived from a gothic design. The design is often found in smaller scale on architecture and furniture. Here the motif has been simplified, enlarged, repeated and mirrored. The bottom created the Gothic arch and is filled with a modern stained glass and the top once again arches over to create an arbor for the walkway on the rooftop.
sketches for the interior structure.
Inetrior Inspiration- The 7 Deadly Sins - For the interior I decided to play on Spain’s rich religious history by using the seven deadly sins to designate a visual concept for specific areas of the hotel. Some of the Spanish inspiration that ties into the sins includes the Valencia festival of Las Fallas, Salsa dancing, Tapas, and Various Artwork.

Open Air Pond Perspective Key
Open Air Pond Perspective - Above the pond is the infinity pool from the floor above. The sides of the pool are clear. There are also holes in the bottom of the pool to allow filtered sunlight through to give the illusion of being under water. Finally the pool spills over the edge to create a waterfall into the pond.
