About
My name is Xiaodong Yang (Rocky). I am a BA automotive design graduate student with working experience in Aston Martin. As background, I was well trained in traditional sketching and painting which gives me a basic understanding of aesthetics before I went to University.
During the 4 years course in Coventry, I’ve been working hard on creating and discovering new shape and form about automobile. Getting inspiration from other field and put it into car design is always attractive to me. Every project that I’ve done has given me a deeper thought about the relationship between form and function, user and product, concept and realistic. Feeling and emotion are the main resource behind my design. Also, a Chinese background has given me a special point of view towards western culture including automotive design.
I am seeking an exterior design job within the automotive industry. -

My individual final major project was a super car for China. Within three years, I have finished these projects: “Formless” Super Car for China – Final Major Project. Interior Design for Lagonda – Aston Martin Placement Project. Future Luxury Interior Design – Group Project for Bentley. “Zen” Interior Concept – for Interior Motives Competition.
