    A professional, enthusiastic NPD coordinator looking for the next step in their career. Having graduated from University with a First Class honors degree in Product Design, I have worked my way thorough different roles to gain a fully comprehensive understanding of the design and manufacturing process. This has lead me to a position where I am able to oversee the entire process, manage priorities and individuals within the team to ensure deadlines are met and products are produced to the highest standard.

      This role has enabled me to oversee the entire design process, keeping abreast of all ongoing and potential new projects. It involves being across all aspects of the process from establishing a concise design brief, allocating projects to engineers, monitoring progress, and getting concepts through to production.
      In addition to this I have managed individuals within the team, this allowing me to set expectations on the current status of projects to the wider business. Due to the large emphasis on innovation within the business, I have also worked closely with patent attorneys to ensure our I.P. is fully protected. An important part of the role is maintaining a good relationship with suppliers, communicating regularly and working through any potential issues together.
    • Industrial Design Engineer

      During my time in this role I worked on numerous project within the business, helping to bring innovation to a sector which had been left behind. As a design role, this included a lot of concept sketches, 3D modelling and prototyping, resulting in 2D engineering drawings. I was then able to travel overseas to work closely with suppliers to ensure the design was production ready and fit for purpose. I also played a large role in generating marketing material including images and drawings for brochures, exhibition stands and all company literature.
      Aiding BSI with their auditing of our products was also required, proving that our products were designed and conforming to the relevant standards to receive third party certification. I was also trained and carried out internal audits to ensure processes were followed. With a number of projects active at one time, this role allowed me to improve my time management, ensuring projects were completed within an agreeable time frame.

      This role allowed me to work on a variety of different products for multiple, well-known clients. The role had a large focus on reviewing the current portfolio and using innovative thinking to create new and improved products. The position involved generating initial concepts for design briefs supplied by clients, and following them through to completion. Creating 3D CAD files using Solidworks to communicate ideas through the medium of rendering.

      This role entailed a great focus on teamwork and customer service. Being a very busy environment it was always important to use initiative and be able to multi-task and prioritize. Throughout my time in this role, I improved my communication skills, both with guests and fellow colleagues.
    • Junior Designer
      The Imperial Bathroom Company
      Mar 2014 - Mar 2015 (1 year)
      This role enabled me to experience the full cycle of the design process. The role included duties such as; researching existing products, developing new ideas, improving existing products, creating production ready engineering drawings and creating CAD models. Thus, allowing me to learn about DFM with a wide of materials and processes. The role also gave me the opportunity to work closely with manufacturers, suppliers and clients to ensure that the best possible solution was reached for everybody involved.
