    • HPC Technician
      Alces Software Ltd
      Aug 2011 - Present (14 years 10 months)
Employed as a HPC Technician which involved many different roles and responsibilities. My main role as an employee was to help install and maintain large HPC clusters for big organisations and universities. Commitment to the company was the key in the role as a lot of highly expensive equipment had to be installed and moved around the country which is a big job within itself but never was a customer unhappy with the service we provided. The role of a HPC Technician can be extremely demanding at times because of problems such as strict deadlines that need to be met, to meet these tight deadlines a lot of dedication and time had to be put in to complete the
clusters in the timeframe given. The company success was always a good way to gain this motivation to work through the night.
    • CAD Designer
      Littlewood Fencing
      Aug 2011 - Sep 2011 (1 month)
Hired as temporary staff to work in the office answering telephones and dealing with enquires as well as planning the layout of the fences and drawing them up on CAD packages, this job gave me the knowledge and knowhow on how a real business is run which is a huge benefit because it ensures a business minded approach to any situation that’s needed to overcome. Also it introduced me to basic CAD systems and technical drawings, these drawings needed to be extremely accurate with little tolerances for the fence to work correctly but also more importantly the builders needed clear instructions and diagrams of what they had to construct. My time at Littlewood was very good; I enjoyed every minute and learnt a lot of important basic skills.
    • Bar Staff and Kitchen Assistant
      Childswickham Inn
      Jan 2011 - Sep 2011 (8 months)
Worked as Bar Staff and kitchen assistant. This role had me doing a wide range of important things for the pub, sometimes I would serve customers at the bar but my other responsibilities included helping in the kitchen, dishwashing and cleaning. Versatility was the main skill needed in this job and also the ability to chat to customers to keep them in buying drinks and meals to ensure the pub is running well and making money.
    • General Assistant
      Evesham Garden Centre
      May 2010 - Dec 2010 (7 months)
Worked as a till operator and general assistant, Working within retail sales helped to further develop customer service skills. The ability to learn quickly and to take on important information effectively was also a main part of the role. However most importantly this job involved me to have to deal with stressful situations such as customer complaints and queries which is a very important job as the customer had to always be kept happy at all times.
