• Approve time cards, vacations, and schedules for two Graphic Designers
• Conduct employee reviews for two Graphic Designers

In addition to duties as Senior Graphic Designer below:
• Design the Kennedy Center’s bimonthly magazine, Kennedy Center News
• Travel to press checks for Kennedy Center News
• Manage the work of two Graphic Designers to ensure pieces meet Kennedy Center quality and style standards
• Oversee the department’s schedule of print ads and work with designers to ensure ad deadlines are met

• Create art and designs for ads, direct mail pieces, brochures, posters, and other collateral
• Specify print instructions and review bluelines and other printer proofs
• Work under pressure with overlapping projects and deadlines
• Retouch and color correct photos

In addition to duties as Production Designer below:
• Manage workflow of three Production Designers for the tabloid-size newspaper
• Brainstorm with section editors on illustration ideas, layout, and space allocation for copy
• Assume Deputy Managing Editor responsibilities as needed (front page design, communication with printer)
• Plan and manage the redesign of newspaper columns as needed

• Design on average 10 pages and one chart, map or graph per day
• Input corrections on designed pages and visuals
• Select and crop photos to accompany copy
• Produce illustrations to accompany copy as needed
