Selah Bless Canlas

I'm Ar. Selah Bless Aquino Canlas, a Graduate of BS Architecture at the University of the Visayas (Main Campus).

Although my days of being a student have ended, new chapter of learning opportunities awaits me in the real world of my chosen field.

Art was my passion since high school and I thought that Architecture and art are just the same. But as I started my journey in college, I found out that Architecture and Art has a relationship with each other but has different roles. Architecture is an Art but this kind of art is broad and elite. It covers design considerations, application of Building Laws, Space Standard and Aesthetics, this is why Architecture has to be studied and analysed. Researched should be done as a evidences or proof for a foundation of such structure and design.

I’ve always remember one of mentors said that “There is no perfect design but every Design problem has a possible and suitable close solution to perfection.” Designing one structure can be limitless and once Architecture is involved, the design still can be unlimited in expression but more precise and organize. And this makes such purpose of design more proportional, appropriate, has more sense and sustainable.

Architecture is a never ending learning process of gaining more knowledge. If given chances I’m willing to undergo more training and challenge to enhance me more as an Architect and as a human being.
