Woven Voices is a wearable technology installation that combines storytelling, interactive design, and artistic expression. Inspired by the resilience of the lotus flower—which blooms even in the most challenging conditions—the project explores the power of overcoming adversity through authentic human connection.
The installation features a custom-made, lotus-inspired dress embedded with seven LED-lit flowers. As participants move closer, the flowers begin to “bloom,” glowing brighter the longer someone remains nearby and responding in real time to human presence. As distance increases, the flowers slowly “wilt,” their light fading away. This interaction is designed to symbolize the importance of presence, support, and connection in moments of struggle, and how healing is often nurtured through closeness rather than isolation.
