The Plaza is located in King Faisal University Campus in Al-Ahsa,
KSA, situated in the center of the housing zone with a total area
of 85,000m². The project was first announced as an architectural
competition for selected consultants, and was awarded to DAO as
the first place winner.
CLIENT REQUIREMENT
The client requirement is that the design develops a unique identity
to this building that is 9,250m², and that will play an important
role in flourishing the urban fabric of the zone; with respect to
the neighboring buildings, keeping in mind that this plaza is to be
the users’ (male and female) sanctuary for health, entertaining and
chilling out; thus the interior must be distinguished and attracting.
The project includes administrative offices, sport halls, cafeterias,
café, swimming pools, multipurpose halls, shops, and a hypermarket.
