Design is an interesting field. I believe that if it had never been for the spark of curiosity, during my childhood, I would not have felt an occupation more fitting for me. Growing up, I was always curious as to how things work around me and what I could do to improve the thought behind the idea of a product. I was born in Saigon, Vietnam but after growing up in America, for the majority of my life, I observed the constant changes going on around me every day. One particular area of change that continues to grab my interest is how the new advancing technological products constantly captures and consumes our lives every day. It is as if companies are finding every possible excuse to design something for almost everything in our lives, including aspects of our lives that inspire creativity. I believe that creativity is driven by curiosity, within one’s self, which develops a desire to explore. Good design is knowing how to gather all the proper queues of life and connecting all the relative needs to develop an adequate solution. Sometimes all it takes is to simply “stop”, “look” and “listen” and allow your spark of curiosity to wonder.
