We’re All Human is a chat program I created for users to learn about homelessness and how to talk to one another with empathy. The user interactive simulation is meant for the user to unlearn misconceptions on homelessness, identify and demolish biases, practice active listening, and receive feedback for selected responses.
Chat bot, Alex, is who the user interacts with when they receive a text from the bot passing judgement on a homeless person. The simulation prompts the user to choose from three different options to respond with. The selected option is sent and three different responses by Alex are displayed, respective to the response the user chose. Feedback on how the user responded will be given and they will be prompted to “Try this instead”, which includes the correct response out of the three options provided. The user is also given feedback on why their chosen response was the right/wrong response.
