For more than 13 years I worked as an artist executing projects for frescos, stained glasses, mosaics and other techniques in various architectural companies in Bulgaria, mainly dealing with renovations of old hotels. Studying graphic design and fine arts in London broadened my skills and gave me a better idea of the path I want to follow in the future.
At David Game College I had the opportunity to use traditional techniques instead of just using computer software. I learned a lot about the techniques of monotype, screen printing and collage. What I really enjoy is mixing digital and manual media and I believe this is the foundation of graphic design. At David Game College I improved my drawing and video skills with a good knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
I have always been interested in drawing using computer software, but I think using traditional techniques is just as enjoyable, if not more rewarding, especially if they are reimagined in a contemporary context. I often draw inspiration from everyday events around me, exhibitions, films, travels and street scenes. I love sketching and see art as a natural way to express myself. The Fine Art course at London Metropolitan University allowed me to experiment with different media and reveal more of my creative side. I was attracted to this course because it offered more freedom of expression. During my stay I realized that I also really love the watercolor technique. I made one of the largest contemporary-sounding watercolors in the world to date - 300cm high / 400cm wide. I am excited to try new techniques and different ways in which I can illustrate and present ideas.
