I’m a recent graduate from the University of Cincinnati’s Industrial Design program. I’m looking for an opportunity in a design consultancy. I’ve had some notable success in packaging design, and I’d like to get into the fields of either medical design or consumer electronics.

I've had internships with Hasbro and Swimways, and done studios with Boeing, Hill-Rom, and UC Biomedical. I was a finalist in an international design packaging competition for LEGO and was able to travel Europe as part of the competition. Though I was by myself for six weeks, I was able to make my way around because I'm a strong and independent person, and knowing a small amount of German and French didn't hurt either.

If you spend any amount of time with me you will likely learn that I'm heavily into creating for the computer game 'The Sims 2'. This entails building 3D models, drawing textures, and various amounts of coding to produce unique game behaviors. After discovering that I could design digital assets for the game, I worked hard on building my online reputation as a quality creator. To date, my 150+ projects have been downloaded over 2 million times.

I'm actively looking for advice and leads about design consultancy positions. If you have any information that could help me in my job search, please either send me a message here, or send me an email at [email protected]

Any and all tips are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    • Bachelor of Science Industrial Design
      University of Cincinnati
      2007 - 2012
I graduated from the top-ranked industrial design school. The University of Cincinnati earned its #1 ranking by focusing on preparing its students to have real world design experience. This is achieved by supplementing its academic program with the co-op program, professional designers as adjunct professors, and studios sponsored by companies. I've had the pleasure of working with Boeing, Hill-Rom, and the UC Biomedical Engineering department as part of my coursework and had internships with Hasbro Games and SwimWays. This wide variety has prepared me to excel in any industry.

    • Design Intern
      SwimWays
      Jan 2011 - Mar 2011 (2 months)
Working with my teammate, Irena Eckard, we created a new seasonal product line to pitch to Target. I did initial designs and groundwork for retail point of purchase displays. I was also helpful by creating working documents of technical specs for our manufacturers in Asia. I also focused on redesigning existing products to pack smaller, cut costs, work better, or provide a richer play experience.

      Jan 2010 - Aug 2010 (7 months)
I designed a uniform structural package for global distribution, which reduced costs and increased profit margin on Hasbro’s twenty title travel game line. I performed cost cutting exercises to help bring the major brands to emerging markets. I was also given footage and stills to cut together as internal videos.
    • UCit Consultant

Consultants monitor the computer labs and help users with login and printer problems. Because I was also skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, I was placed in our Creative Design Resource lab to assist users with Photoshop and Illustrator.
