MSc Product Engineering Design
University of Strathcylde
2013 - 2014
Dissertation:
Study into the effects of fluctuating artificial airflow, produced by fan-based products, on cooling individuals. Used the following:
▪ Quantitative and qualitative technical research into airflow production, control and phenomena.
▪ Producing computer models for simulation and design verification through CFD and FEA.
▪ Prototype design using laser cutting, CNC machining, CAD, vacuum forming and model making techniques for testing.
Product Modelling & Visualisation:
Research and design using FEA & CFD; and 3D rendering.
Client-Based Project:
Part of a dynamic team of engineers tasked with designing, building and testing (physical & modelling) a dry-land wakeboarding simulator for commercial use for COS (Scotland) Ltd.
CAED Systems:
Research and development of hardware / software deployment strategies for business.
Design Methods:
Research of design methodologies covering: FMEA, DFMA, LCM, etc.
Design Management:
Developed sound knowledge of industry management techniques e.g. PLM and Concurrent Engineering.

BA (Hons) International Product Design
Glasgow Caledonian University
2011 - 2013
Dissertation: In-depth study focused on contemporary product design philosophies, comparatively evaluated against Rams’s Ten Principles for Good Design.
Modules were project based (individual and group) covering domestic and industrial design, user-centred design, aesthetics, contextual awareness and ergonomics. Focus was given to training in manufacturing principles, project management, hybrid CAD modelling techniques and design research.
