Alessandro Vene

Born in Florence, Italy, Alessandro’s interest in art started from a very early age. The influence of the region has played a major role in the development of his draftsmanship.

Part computer geek, part classically trained artist, set designer, and children’s book illustrator, he mixes various influences, from movies, anime, and videogames. He specializes in pencil, watercolor and digital painting. Living in Hawaii influenced him further by the relaxed culture, where he worked as a fulltime freelance illustrator creating countless imagery for children’s books, advertising, iPad and new media applications. In addition he also founded and brought to life various design projects for residential and commercial businesses in Hilo Hawaii. He now resides in Portland Oregon.
