    Over the past 20 years I feel I have gained invaluable experience and insight into both the retail and supply side of the fashion industry, which I have found challenging and exciting. I have designed footwear for a large number of key retailers such as Next, Primark, New Look, Kurt Geiger, M&S, Foschini, River Island, George, Matalan and Tesco.

    I am currently working as a Design and Trend Consultant for Matalan, across Ladies footwear and accessories.

      Identify new kit shapes/sole plate designs and develop them.
      Travel to Far East to over see sample development.
      Partake in overseas product searches at the beginning of each season such as Milan; Amsterdam and Antwerp etc.
      Attend footwear exhibitions such as Linea Pelle, Micam and Footwear UK.
      Develop a clear and coherent presentation to showcase the range to the directors.

      Research current trend in children's footwear, clothing and accessories.
      Design for customers such as: Start Rite, BMS, Mothercare, Woolworths, Next, and Ravel.
      Liaise with customers and the Far East to ensure deadlines are met.
      Partake in weekly meetings with customers to discuss range plans and sample progression.
      Design a wide range of character products such as: Barbie, My Little Pony, Bob the Builder, Spiderman, Snoopy, Whinnied the Pooh etc and ensure licence approval before bulk.
      Design a wide range of product from EVA and vulcanised to trainers, party shoes and boots.

      Amend designs on Photoshop for licence approval.
      Ensure all character products are approved before bulk.

      Chase all samples from the Far East.
      Create Excel spreadsheets to tack sample development.
