RSBi is a manufacturer of bespoke furniture and shop fitting solutions for the private and public sectors. I am a key member of a team who; design, project manage and run installations for a number of important clients.
Responsibilities include:
Sketching of design concepts, followed by physical testing through prototyping if required; frequent discussions with the client to ensure the product fully meets the clients requirements; rendered presentation images to better communicate ideas and aesthetics; detailed design to engineer concepts for manufacturing; production of manufacturing drawings including 2D component parts drawings for CNC programing or outsourcing, assembly drawings and drawings illustrating the best construction method; sourcing of suitable components / materials and working with suppliers to keep abreast of current trends, ensure best quality and value; product costing through bill of material creation and process timing; submitting applications to tenders; material utilisation planning and working closely with estimators; mentoring new engineers.
Notable projects:
Tomorrow’s Office: A multi-million pound consolidation and refurbishment of Glasgow City Council’s offices throughout the city; GHA Wheatley House: A multi-million pound refurbishment of the building featuring some innovative furniture and kit of parts design; Home for Life: Multiple, high value, high specification, elderly person’s care home development; Kingsford Developments: Edinburgh: Design, manufacture and install of high specification kitchens and bathrooms in a exclusive location; Social Work Services: Supported Residential Accommodation: Multiple, new build, innovative buildings for sheltering Glasgow’s homeless; Ramada Hotel: Glasgow Airport: Complete renovation.
