About
Hello! I'm a designer and illustrator originally from Brooklyn, NY. I create fun, thoughtful, and concept-driven work in the realms of branding, illustration, and print design. I'm currently a full-time book cover designer at Penguin Random House, where I focus on middle-grade and young adult titles published by Razorbill. My job is awesome because I get to exercise my love for typography, custom lettering, illustration, and art direction every day.
When I'm not at my day-job, I can be found working on passion projects, freelance branding and lettering design, and well as independent studies. I am a recent graduate of the 2014–2015 Type@Cooper Extended Program, a yearlong postgraduate program in typeface design (which is just a fancy way of saying that I've spent countless hours drawing, modifying, proofing, and revising type in the past year).

Certificate Typeface DesignType@Cooper2014 - 2015Students learn the tools and principles of digital typeface design through individual typeface design projects with Sumner Stone (Ex-Director of Typography at Adobe Systems) and Sasha Tochilovsky leads an exploration of the history and theory of typeface design through lectures, discussions, and independent research. Optional elective classes offered in addition to the core program focus on topics such as hand-lettering and Python programming. Special guest lecturers and critics round out the program and provide deeper insight. Participants design and produce their own typefaces as fonts made to industry standards, and exit the program with the specialized skills needed to design professional-quality digital typefaces and lettering.
