I researched the target market for this collection of women's luxury shoes, manufactured in Italy determined brand positioning and identity, wrote the business plan and secured financing for this start -up venture. Built the business from inception to $850,000 annual sales. Selected accomplishments include: Design & Production Studied the socio-economic factors that determine the foot development of the target consumer and developed lasts to meet these criteria as well as the current fashion trends. Conceptualized the collection, maintaining fashion forward brand image and positioning. Sourced fabric, trim and components. Hand built and tested prototypes for fit and function. Developed line specification sheets to clearly and succinctly communicate all design and engineering details to off-shore factory. Fit and approved all factory samples. Marketing Developed and sketched seasonal presentation boards for sell-in of collection to personal shoppers Personal Appearances at Trunk Shows to facilitate selling the line to consumers, as well as proactive research to determine how best to meet target customer's wants and needs. Worked with graphics consultant to develop logo, collateral materials, point of sale display, trunk show display and web presence.
