Red Hook Check-in medical resiliency initiative

Project director/lead designer for new medical resiliency initiative in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Using a co-design process, we created a new service model to ensure medically fragile residents stay connected to neighbors and needed resources in times of crisis. The project is also designed to strengthen social cohesion and disaster preparedness at the community level. I led a multidisciplinary team, working with local and city government, NGOs, and citywide service providers. I also created a participatory design approach, designed and facilitated workshops, conducted interviews, etc. The photos shown here are from our Design Research phase, conducted in the summer of 2016.
The project was also featured at NYC Department of Emergency Management's Disability, Access, and Functional Needs Symposium.
