Preeminent 20th-century German page designer Jan Tschichold once said, ‘Perfect typography is more a science than an art,’ which well describes my 50/50 mindset. That is, I’m equally artistic and technical—in both my own design aesthetic and approach. I thrive in coordinative roles that allow me to support other creatives and implement processes to keep deadline-driven environments organized.

My passions are content and layout—words and images expressed within the harmonious logic of a grid system. Words on their own are powerful enough. But harness the power of visual arrangement and you can give content a fresh voice, engaging an audience in the interpretation of messaging. This is no less true in an age where the social dialogue has expanded from the page to the screen. I harbor a foundational love for the tangible while embracing the digital, advocating for craft above all else.

What else makes me indispensable? My education, my own sense of style and ability to intuit trends, an OCD-like editorial eye for detail, an appreciation for art history as an informant of the present, a propensity for language, emotional intelligence, and a personality that seeks to bring people together.

In a world where inconstancy is arguably the most reliable constant, I’m drawn to the notion of designing engaging content that leaves an impression—or better yet—that consumers want to return to.
