The Drawing Deck elliptical drawing machine
7 Days, the kinetic sculpture that features 7 cogs and a handle, it comments on the futility of most of the daily routine, we work, spin our wheels, repeat ourselves and push piles of dust from one place to another
The Drunken Compass drawing machine, designed for more than one participant at a time but works just as well solo.
Guilloche style drawings that are the output of the machine.
An earlier piece that i ended up leaving out, I embedded coloured pencils in to plaster moulds of cameras to use as drawing devices, the camera still makes pictures just not in the same way.
The idea with this was that i would not do any of the drawing, people would all get involved to create a varied outcome
The drawing Deck after a lot of attention at the exhibition.
The drinken compass creating some colourful circular patterns.

Final major project 2014, drawing machines

for my final major project at college I wanted to create a series of pieces that people would need to engage with rather than to present images that people would view, I am interested in a more hands on approach to art and so I ended up designing and building two hand operated drawing machines as well as one hand operated sculpture that is a tower of cogs. I designed all the pieces in Illustrator and laser cut the parts then put it all together, it was a great challenge. please view the blog I did for the project for more info and to find out how I arrived the finished work and to see some of the other work I did during the project.
