Perfect Shades of Grey - This is another example of my work from my drawing course. For the first assignment, the focus was on creating perfect shades of grey, while paying attention to details. The objective was to start off with a black and white photograph and create a copy of it in an 18” by 36” drawing. This was created one half inch square at a time. I completed over 323 squares for this drawing with pencil.
During the final two weeks of my drawing course, I sketched figures from live models. This is a small sample of the hundreds of sketches completed during that time.

Drawings

During my time at Northeastern University, it was important to me to take art courses along with my engineering courses. One of the courses that I took was the basic drawing course. From the time I was in high school, I did a lot of technical drawing similar to focus of the basic drawing course. I found it refreshing to revisit the basic. However, I discovered that I never actually learned some the techniques that were taught to me. I found many of those lessons very helpful and I still use much of what I learn today.
