Talisman Ride Queue Project
TALISMAN was a semester long project that took place during the Spring 2013 quarter for THED-735: Component Design. The task was to create a queue line for a themed ride centered around a story, movie, show, or a game with a strong storyline. While the actual ride design was not the focus of this particular project, a general idea of the type of ride, the theoretical hourly ride capacity (THRC), type of ride, and location needed to be established in order to create an impactful queue line experience. For this project, I chose the Shane Ackler film "9" to be the IP of my attraction. It is designed as a dark ride with a 2400 THRC and theoretically located in Alton Towers. The story is set in a not-too-distant post apocalyptic Earth just after the epic battle between man and machine. I wanted to drop the viewer into this world and give clues along the journey.
