Chess Cube
Design and building of a custom chess set
This project was done in light of the fact that many commercially available chess sets are either far too expensive or very cheaply made. This solution provides an elegant, modern design for transporting a full chess set and board that breaks down into four pieces, using rare earth magnets to secure the board when being used for play. The ChessCube houses all four board pieces, a full chess set with a spare queen for each color for pawn promotion, as well as enough extra pawns to play checkers.
Designed for my lovely wife before our engagement.
