About
Sara Chong is a serial obsessor who loves sticking her hands into all sorts of things. She's currently obsessing with classical drawing, which involves hours of contemplation on light and the human form in the Florence Academy of Art. When she's not trying to draw bodies out of paper, Sara illustrates worlds and creatures for books and games. So far her illustration work ranges from books, physical board and trading card games and online games. Her clients have included Playmoolah and Cardboard Island from Singapore and Polygon Pictures in Japan, who worked in collaboration with Blizzard for their World of Warcraft trading card game. She does, occasionally, make the odd clay-maquette or stopmotion film, which was what her degree in "digital" animation was about in the first place. She lives by a religion of impulsive doodling and writing, and believes that everything is inevitably connected.

Fine Art Classical Drawing and PaintingThe Florence Academy of Art2012 - 2014The Florence Academy of Art was founded in 1991 by Daniel Graves to provide the highest level of instruction in classical drawing, painting and sculpture. Graves' vision of the Academy is its potential to train a select group of highly skilled Realist painters and sculptors. His philosophy, which underlies the Academy's curriculum and method of instruction, demands a return to discipline in art, to canons of beauty, and to the direct study of nature and the Old Masters as the foundation for great painting and sculpture. Under his direction, the Academy is a source of stimulation and healthy competition, in which an internationally varied group of students receives training from professional painters of different nationalities, in cities renowned for their beauty and artistic past. The Florence Academy of Art is: - a branch of the International Academy of Fine Art and has been recognized to be a tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code of the United States since 2000 - accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) - recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Ministry of Universities as a foreign non-profit university-level program - recognized by the Swedish National Board of Education and has been approved for study assistance through CSN - affiliated with Laguna College of Art and Design in Laguna Beach, CA - recommended by Art Renewal Center as an ARC accredited atelier - a member of the Association of American College and University Programs in Italy (AACUPI)
