Case Krawcewicz (they/he) is an Edmonton based designer with over a decade of experience across various sectors including: technology, education, and not-for-profit/charity organizations. His work has varied from uplifting visual brands, to award winning online courses that have been taken by over 500,000 learners in 167 countries around the world, to improving the usability of university websites, to growing and maintaining social media accounts with over 16K followers.
Case has worked in a range of team sizes. From being a team of one, to a manager of a team of many. He has trained new employees, and been part of strategic planning at organizations. Regardless of his role, Case puts a focus on accessibility, user experience, and consistent quality content that adheres to, and uplifts, the visual brand.
Case most recently was the Communications and Design Coordinator at Skipping Stone Foundation. A charity organization focused around supporting and uplifting trans folks living in Alberta. Here he oversaw their social media accounts and website, and created additional print resources.
Previously, Case's was a core member of the Marketing Team at Willowglen Systems. Willowglen Systems produces control system software for distributed critical infrastructure such as metro rail, pipelines, and electrical grids. The technology that keeps our modern world running. During his time there the marketing team varied from one to five people, and Case often aided in the training of new marketing staff members, and at times, reported directly to the CEO.
Before that, Case was the Lead Design Strategist at Onlea, a company that produces online courses, educational videos, and applications for clients. There he championed accessibility and UX efforts. Before leaving he was the lead of one of the course production teams while still being involved in design work and company branding efforts.
Case's career started at the University Digital Strategy Department (Marketing and Communications, University Relations) at the University of Alberta. There he started on a team of interns making 3D models of campus buildings for Google Earth (before Google started procedurally generating that map layer). He was hired to stay on full time, and continued his involvement in the project to humanize campus with 360 degree panoramas and a cross faculty project to create a virtual tour. He quickly transitioned into UX Strategy, working with faculties to improve the usability of their websites, including running workshops on usability best practices.
