I had a rolling contract with Boden that continued for 8 months until I left to go to South America for a year. This included writing digital and catalogue content for Boden and Mini Boden.
One of my favourite projects for Mini Boden was brainstorming and writing the copy for a competition, which featured six monsters who lived and worked in Boden's Monster Mansion. There, they carried out important jobs such as growing polka dots, testing the stickiness of velcro and making sure the linen wasn't too crunchy or limp.
Children were asked to come up with their own monsters and a job description for them. The three winners' creations were made into real toys for the kids. The competition was a huge success. Boxes upon boxes of monster designs filled our offices, swamped our desks, and hid under computer terminals making gurgling noises.
