In my day job, I work as a designer on a small marketing team that handles special and innovative projects for a large corporate retailer in downtown Minneapolis. This role has provided me with unique design opportunities I never expected to be apart of, ranging from your usual graphic design / layout jobs to designing hardware, visual merchandising, engineering product displays, and concepting and prototyping large scale art installations.
Simplicity is the driving ideal behind much of my design (and much of my personal philosophy). Simplicity is clean, intuitive, honest and functional. It allows the clear communication of an idea to the viewer, user or participant, and an instinctual understanding of how one is to interact with a design.
I believe coding websites is an art form: it has a logical rhythm that is truly a thing of beauty.
When I'm not at work, I enjoy being with my friends, listening to music, grilling various meats and vegetables, building websites and furniture, camping and being outdoors.
