I studied multidisciplinary design at Universidad del Azuay in Cuenca, Ecuador. The curriculum of my undergraduate education consisted of a strong theory and practical approach to design. After studying design theory and methods in classroom time, I had the opportunity to take workshop classes and learn a broad range of construction and prototyping methods. I acquired skills such as woodworking, metalworking, jewelry, ceramics, illustration, and more. After graduating as a multidisciplinary designer I obtained a Fulbright scholarship to study industrial design at RIT. There I was exposed to technology and theory of the highest level to propose solutions to human problems through design. My graduate thesis consisted of the design of a board game based on traditional knowledge of south American Andean communities. I came back to Ecuador, after getting my MFA degree, and got a position as a full time teacher at Universidad San Francisco de Quito in the communications design department, until 2017. Currently, I work as a part time teacher, and develop research and independent design projects. I have been an educator and have been always active in practical and theoretical design research my whole career.
