Chris Simpson

Worked as part of a product and mechanical design consultancy in East Sussex. The company is involved in developing products for a broad range of sectors including: New Energy, Environment, Motorsport, Industrial and Leisure. The clientele can range from individuals looking to turn their ideas into reality to larger companies, such as Paxton Access Ltd, a leading manufacturer of electronic access control systems looking for fresh ideas. They offer services such as 3D CAD modelling, engineering drawing, prototype manufacture and patent drawings.

During my time at D+P I worked on a number of exciting live projects which provided me with a combination of experience from industrial design to design engineering. My role within the company was to work alongside fellow engineers and designers generating fresh ideas for clients on paper all the way through to CAD and in some cases physical working prototypes. Other duties included: research, liaising with suppliers and clients, procurement of parts, CAD renderings and creating presentation material for meetings.
