Richell Modular Craft Cases

Flagship design for a four-unit modular set of craft cases designed in Japan for the Japanese market. As such, after several in-home user experience research visits and official meetings with several retail chain executives, the four units were designed to address a number of perceived needs. For consumers, the box was designed specifically to accommodate the tallest craft spray cans; something competition could not do. For hardware store chains, case sizes were chosen to efficiently utilize space available on newly introduced retail shelving standards. And for Richell, part count was reduced to minimize capital investment. This unit, along with its three companion cases, allowed the client to successfully enter a saturated market with a product that remained in production for a significant number of years.
