Amcrest Technologies LLC asked for innovative and modern designs for an indoor, pan/tilt IP camera. They wanted designs that are relatable to their customers, but still gave a sense of security.
Home takes it’s form inspiration from Amcrest’s logo. The hexagon in the logo is the shape of the section that houses the lens. The negative space in the logo that creates a cube inspired the base. Just as the logo implies the shape of a house, in certain positions, this camera looks like a home. The camera tilts by spinning the hexagon on its axis and pans by twisting the base.
Lighthouse is a mix of modern and classic design. The overall form takes inspiration from lighthouses, a symbol of safety. The camera section has been trimmed down to accentuate its purpose. By taking a form that might be found in an antique shop and giving it a hyper modern look, this camera will look good in any home. The camera tilts at the lens section, and the top of the base can turn to pan.
