A scales and measuring device manufacturer asked for innovative designs for a bluetooth food scale. There were no material or color specifications. They just wanted to see new perspectives on a food scale.
Pure is a minimal bluetooth food scale made from wood with a high gloss coating, stainless steel, and silicone. All controls other than a power button are done through your phone or tablet, giving Pure a clean, non-techy look. The measurements shine through the wood giving an impression that the display is part of the wood. A removable silicone skin sits on top of the bowl shaped center, removing the need for additional bowls. The silicone can be lifted and folded to create a spout for pouring ingredients, making preparing meals quicker.
